The Kenya YMCA National Training Institute (KYMCA NTI) was established in 1966 as YMCA Crafts Training Centre with the aim of providing vocational training to young school leavers.
In 2005, it was rebranded to National Training Institute and its programmes reviewed so as to meet the emerging students, industry and business needs. The KYMCA NTI is seeking to recruit for the following position:
Marketing Officer (6 Month Contract)
Job Purpose: Steer the development and implementation of a marketing strategy that supports student recruitment and elevates the reputation of the institution.
Reporting to: Principal
Description of Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish a marketing strategy that effectively reaches out to the target market – school leavers, adults, employers and the wider community.
- Develop and implement a marketing and communication plan to include PR, internal communication and learner recruitment for a variety of different audiences, and raise the institution’s profile internally and externally.
- Writing and producing marketing materials, sourcing student and alumni testimonials and liaising with designers on production issues.
- Develop e-marketing materials and regularly create content to update the website.
- Manage the institution’s social media accounts.
- Creating advertising campaigns and developing media plans
- Coordinating college events such as open days, graduation day etc
- Responsible for the institution’s participation at exhibitions and other marketing events and managing the stock of all marketing materials
- Preparing power-point presentations for Principal/Management at recruitment events
- Proactively searching out information for PR purposes, liaising with the media and arranging interviews with members of staff where necessary.
- Maintaining a photo library and arranging external photo shoots and filming with placement students and alumni as well as in-house photo shoots with staff and students.
- Gathering market intelligence and reviewing results in relation to NTI’s marketing plans.
- Work with admissions team to ensure effective arrangement and customer service are in place to maximize student recruitment
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree and professional qualification in marketing
- 3 years experience in marketing preferably within the education sector

- Commercial/business awareness
