An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Hotel Porter to join our team at a 5-Star rated Hotel in Kisumu.
Job Purpose: To be an essential part of the front office team and to welcome guest into the main lobby and assist guest with luggage, taxi requests and general information.
Duties:
- You will be responsible for checking guests in and out.
- Provide guests with the services and facilities in a timely manner ensuring guest satisfaction is achieved with all interactions.
- Prepare and clear down areas as required.
- You will assist with the efficient running of day/night procedures.
- To ensure the safe, timely and careful delivery of all guests luggage, messages and other goods.
- To ensure that accommodation reception areas are kept neat, clean and tidy at all times.
- Assisting guests, providing a clean and safe environment and following up guest requests.
- Maintaining up to date knowledge on all hotel events, including Food and Beverage outlet information.
- Developing professional relationships with all guests.
- Distributing luggage to and from guest rooms in a timely and safe manner.
- Delivering guest messages, parcels and amenities to and from guests.
- Closely liaising on a daily basis with the Front Office Team regarding the anticipated arrivals and departure time of tours.
- Maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Diploma or certificate in tour guide from a recognized institution.
- Be able to maintain a calm and positive outlook.
- Excellent communication skills and a desire to provide excellent customer service.
- Well groomed and maintaining correct uniform standards.
- Computer skills.
- At least a year’s experience in similar position
- Good Knowledge of Hotel Services will be an added advantage.
