Vacancy: Executive Engineer

Job Purpose:

• The Executive Engineer must be able to design, develop and maintain equipment to international Standards, focusing on companies’ requirements and ensuring quality, reliability, efficiency and safety of electrical systems.


• Manage a multi-disciplinary technical team, ensuring team cohesion and delivery of timely results.

Duties:

• Co-ordinate and control functions of a fully-fledged maintenance department dealing with all engineering aspects.


• Formulate annual Operating and Capital expenditure budgets and ensure budgetary control.


• Scheduling and supervising preventative maintenance service for all equipment under scope.


• In liaison with the purchasing department, ensuring the best quality R&M items are purchased at the most competitive prices.


• Manage small to medium scale building and maintenance projects involving external contractors and suppliers.


• Responsibility for overseeing implementation of agreed technical designs and ensuring desired quality of materials and timely delivery of installation.


• Confirms system’s and components’ capabilities by designing testing methods and procedures.


• Creating safe working practices and ‘lockout’ procedures.


• Writing reports, maintaining documentation and providing feedback to the Management.


• Maintaining thorough understanding of relevant international standards and regulations.


• Oversee work and manage performance and development of Technical Teams.

Skills and Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.


• Experience in Generators, pumps and Solar Systems is desirable.


• Have strong knowledge in electro mechanics, refrigeration works and civil engineering works.


• Minimum of 5 years hands on experience as maintenance Engineer and at least 1 years’ experience in Hospitality.


• Fully conversant with the Application of Health and Safety and Electrical Principles


• Demonstrate competency in single and three phase electrical installations.


• Ability to specify, install, and commission a generator.


• Skilled in the practices of project management and managing people.


• High degree of professional integrity and ability to work effectively in a team based, multi-cultural environment.


• Capacity to deliver timely results, under pressure, with minimum supervision.


• Ability to solve problems, prioritize and show good communication skills.


• Ability to maintain an overview of entire projects while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities.
