Microfinance Institution Accountant

Our client is a leading Microfinance Institution (MFI) looking for professional, confident, self-motivated and committed Accountant.

Job Duties

• Manage day to day accounting entry


• Prepare and key in accounting data into the core banking system


• Management accounting & regular reporting


• Handling statutory remittances to the relevant authorities


• Budgeting and coming up with budget projections


• Ensuring proper classification of transactions as assets, liabilities, income and expenses


• Reviewing on loan disbursement and settlement, summary loan collection, and all vouchers


• Classification of loan documents to proper loan files


• Assist the cashiers/ tellers in preparing documents or issue official receipts


• Monitoring ATM transactions


• Preparing Monthly reports


• Counter checking daily cash counts performed by the cashiers


• Prepare documents such as invoice/receipt and payment voucher etc


• Assist with KRA matters and statutory deductions


• Book keeping, primary accounting, records and petty cash management


• Conducting trial audits in preparation of external audits


• Stock taking of assets and maintaining of asset register


• Handling escalated customer complaints


• Other tasks assigned by management

Job Requirement

• CPA graduate


• Diploma/ Degree in Business (accounting, financial banking or relate field)


• At least 3 years experience as an accountant in a Financial Institution


• 33 – 40 yrs old


• Experience handling banking software (T24/ Bankers Realm)


• Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Quick books, e-mail, outlook and internet ….etc)


• Creative, teamwork and problem solving skills


• Strong organization and interpersonal communication skill


• Honest, initiative, hard-working and committed individual


• Be able to work under pressure, long hours and short
