Newport Africa (Kenya) Limited is a Nairobi based strategic risk management company specializing in difficult security assignments across Kenya.
We are seeking to fill the position of Convoy Supervisor who will ensure the successful and timely movement of convoys between Kitale and Lokichar.
Key responsibilities
Safe passage of all convoy elements between Kitale and Lokichar
Command of all convoy elements including vehicle drivers and security vehicles.
Command and control of all security elements in the event of a security incident
Ensure all convoy elements are familiar with, and adhere to convoy SOPs
Ensure security detachment understands security SOPs, rules of engagement and the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights
Effective passage of information and reporting to Newport Africa on convoy operations, progress and incident response
Daily serviceability checks on security vehicles
Job requirements
Excellent leadership and man management skills
Effective command and control of mixed teams
Excellent communications and inter-personal skills
Small unit organized tactics
Understanding of local society dynamics
Good command of English, Kiswahili and one local language
The preferred candidate will be proficient in first aid and use of GPS and satellite phones, and will be a retired officer from the Kenya Army or GSU with over 7 years working experience in hostile and demanding conditions.
