Machine Operator, Dormans Coffee Ltd

Job Position: Machine Operator



Type of Machine: Universal Packaging Machine & ICA Packaging Machine



Reporting To: Production Manager



Employment Terms: Permanent



Location: Nairobi Kenya



Key Responsibilities:


  • Run the machine in safe, timely and efficient manner in accordance to food safety procedures throughout the operations to meet FSSC 22000 standards.

  • Ensure optimum utilization of the machine with set ups and change overs taking shortest time possible.

  • Monitor machine to ensure product being applied is of right recipe and according to specifications within tolerance making any adjustments in process.

  • Keeping production, productivity/efficiency records and maintaining lubrication and cleaning schedules.


Skills & Specifications:


  • Proven ability to meet steep deadlines

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision

  • Excellent communication & management skills

  • Good team player


Education & Professional Specification:


  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

  • At least minimum 2 years experience

Radio Frequency Engineer

Position: Senior Radio Frequency Engineer



Reports To: Technical Operations Manager

Role Summary: Senior RF Engineer is responsible for installation and maintenance of telecommunication systems as well as providing network support to the organization’s WAN clients in order to meet and maintain set service level objectives.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Wimax Network Optimization: Analyze and optimize Wimax systems spectrums using specific RF optimization tools. Execute RF designs for specific markets including capacity and frequency planning and propose optimization techniques through field work and statistical analysis.

  • Carry out analysis and mapping, interference analysis, engineering design, coverage mapping, link budget calculations, profile calculation for LOS, link capacity dimensioning, routing design and proposal preparation.

  • Perform Microwave Links RF calculations and design.

  • Installation of VSAT and Wireless communications terminals.

  • Conduct site surveys and generate implementation reports.

  • Design connectivity solutions including link budgeting, link capacity dimensioning, routing design and proposal preparation.

  • Carry out periodic and corrective maintenance of VSAT terminals and other telecommunications equipment.

  • Online, on phone and on site troubleshoots.

  • On site corrective and preventive maintenance.

  • Preparation of maintenance and troubleshooting reports.

  • Provide technical support to the company’s broadband and wireless clients.


Education and Experience


  • Specific experience in using commercial RF network planning tools for wireless broadband

  • Working knowledge of IEEE 802.X standards

  • An understanding of RF propagation models and their application for wireless broadband

  • Knowledge with RF equipment measurement (spectrum analyzer, power meter, etc)

  • Able to understand the workings of telecommunication technologies

  • Good knowledge of engineering mathematics and calculus

  • Good organizational skills

  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical manuals

  • Project planning and implementation skills

  • Ability to discuss and present information in a clear and concise manner

  • Ability to exercise judgment to solve technical problems where the answer is not apparent

  • Organized with natural forward planner abilities

  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or any other relevant discipline.

  • Minimum 3 years practical experience in design, deployment and maintenance of VSAT based WAN, LAN’s, Terrestrial Wireless and Wired Networks.

Role Summary : NOC Engineer is responsible for maintaining the Enterprise Network ensuring that it is up and running as well as ensuring that customers are constantly connected.



Key Responsibilities


  • The maintenance of the Enterprise Network (Enterprise Edge and Aggregation)

  • Ensure that Service Level Agreements are met for all Services

  • Ensure system and service availability of the network on 24/7 basis

  • Manage network fault and 2nd level escalations

  • Ensure optimum performance of the network at all times with KPIs met

  • Ascertain that acceptance tests are efficiently carried out and handover circuits to operations and business partners.

  • Monitor and report service level status on a weekly and monthly basis.


Education and Work Requirements


  • Must have at least CCNA Certification.

  • Understanding of ISP Core Network Architecture.

  • Excellent practical experience of network monitoring and use of monitoring tools available.

  • Hands on experience in IP Service Level Agreement deployment in CISCO environment will be an added advantage.

  • Good knowledge of MPLS and QoS is required.

  • Knowledge of network management and monitoring tools (e.g. Orion Net Solar-Winds, HP Open-View NMS, Cisco LMS/ISC, Ethereal, Cacti).

  • High level understanding of multi-services platforms, routing protocols ISIS/RIP/RSVP/OSPF/BGP/iBGP/ and troubleshooting down to packet level.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in direct Network Engineering/Network Support in a Service Provider environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical/Computer Engineering or other relevant discipline.
