Depressed IT Worker Quits Job After Being ‘Paid Too Much’

If you work for someone, you will often find that no matter how much you earn, you’re still not earning your true worth. Yes, you are paid to make your boss richer. Do you agree?

Many unhappy employees complains usually stem from wages being too low. But an IT worker, Sandeep Jia just quit his £450-a-month job for an opposite reason; being paid too much.

The 32 year old repeatedly asked for his pay to be cut as his wealth made him feel ‘guilty’ when others in Bangalore, India, lived in poverty, but when his request for a lower wage was repeatedly ignored by bosses he decided to hand in his resignation.

‘I was getting depressed, and in the end I decided to solve the problem by leaving and looking for a different job,’ he explained.

But can you quit your job because you are earning too much and are feeling guilty that your wage disparity with the poor is too big? I just doubt if Kenyans would do that.
