The National Empowerment Network of People living with HIV/AIDS in Kenya (NEPHAK) is a national network that unites people living with HIV (PLHIV) and those affected by TB and AIDS through community based organizations such as post-test clubs, support groups, men’s associations, carers associations, women groups, youth groups and non-governmental organizations including PLHIV networks.
NEPHAK works in partnership with relevant government of Kenya institutions and structures.
NEPHAK is currently looking for qualified professionals to support its operations in the following position: Finance Officer
Reporting to the Finance and Administration Manager, the position is responsible for processing of financial transactions, maintaining financial records of the organization, providing adequate accounting information, ensuring compliance with financial policies, systems and procedures, maintain accounting controls, proper custody of financial records, and safeguarding the assets of the organization.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
Financial Management – Support the development and implementation of, and ensure adherence to financial management policies, systems and procedures including computerized financial systems to cover general ledger and fixed assets aimed at improving financial reporting and accounting for acquisitions, maintenance, valuation, depreciation, capitalization, replacement and disposal of assets.
Processing Financial Transactions, Banking, maintaining up to date Financial Records and any other duties as may be assigned.
Competencies/Abilities/Skills Required
Strong analytical skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in accounting packages (Knowledge of Sage Pastel will be an added advantage).
Strong report writing skills
Strong coordination skills
Auditing skills
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or any other related field and CPA II.
At least two (2) years’ experience in a similar position preferably in an NGO environment.
