Erica Gachoka is a teen who has chosen to take the road travelled by a few. After capturing the attention of the first lady, Margret Kenyatta who kicked off her blood campaign project, the 16yr old now has 13 Million in the bank and she is not yet done.
The passionate16year old daughter of Kiss 100 radio presenter, Ciku Muiruri has been mobilizing Kenyans and corporates to come together to help her achieve her dream through her initiative “The Blood” which has caught many people’s attention so far.
Erica is on a mission to run for Kenyans at the Chicago Marathon in a bid to raise funds for mobile blood units. Nation Media Group donated Sh. 500,000 in cash and Sh. 1 million in kind to facilitate her travel to US.
So what’s her drive you may ask? “Someone needs to shake Kenyans up when it comes to giving blood.” Erica says.
She wants every man to donate blood four times a year and women three times a year. The blood units will be run and manned by the Bloodlink Foundation.
Erica is just as driven as her mother and she want to genuinely want to help and make a difference.
