Purpose

The internal auditor will be expected to bring a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.

Internal Auditor Job Description

The Internal Auditor will be expected to develop annual audit plan and will perform the following tasks in accordance with Placement Service overall strategy:

  • Formulate and implement Internal Audit policies and operations manuals;
  • Identify and critically evaluate elements of governance and risk management in the service, design appropriate risk management and mitigation strategies for implementation;
  • Plan and execute internal audits in accordance with International standards on professional practice of internal auditing;
  • Develop new continuous improvement initiatives, evaluate the adequacy of internal control systems, compliance with laws, policies and procedures, report findings and recommend improvements;
  • Review operations/programs to ascertain whether results are consistent with established objectives and whether the operations/programs are being carried out as planned;
  • Prepare timely and accurate audit reports for presentation to management and to Audit Risk and Compliance committee of the Board and follow up implementation of issues arising recommendations;
  • Act as the secretary to the Audit Committee of the Board; and
  • Investigate reported occurrences of fraud, embezzlement, theft and wastage.

Minimum Requirements for Internal Auditor Jobs in Kenya

  • Have served in a senior Audit position for Five Years, Three (3) years of which must be in a senior management position;
