HR & Admin Officer Job Description

The Human Resource and Administration Officer will be responsible to the Deputy Secretary for the overall management and administration of the Human Resource and Administration division. Specific duties and responsibilities will be to:-

  • Provide guidance on human resource and administrative related matters;
  • Develop, review, interpret and coordinate the implementation of all human resource and administration policies, regulations, procedures and strategies;
  • Ensure proper management and safe custody of human resource and administrative information, equipment and other assets of the organization are secure and stored in accordance with the laid down regulations,
  • Coordinate and supervise the administrative function of the organization including security services, reception, property management, safety in the work place and provision of working tools;
  • Coordinate recruitment, promotion, discipline and deployment of staff in the organization;
  • Oversee staff development including identification of suitable staff training programs and on-the-job training; and
  • Plan and budget for the Department including personnel emoluments.

Job Specifications for HR & Admin Officer Kenyan Jobs

For appointment to this grade, a Candidate must:-

  • Have served as a Human Resource and Administration officer for a minimum period of five (5) years in comparable and relevant position in the Public Service or Private Sector;
  • Have a Degree in any of the following disciplines: (Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, and Development Studies) or equivalent qualification from recognized institution. A Masters
  • Degree in the relevant field will be an added advantage.
  • Be registered as a professional member with the Institute of Human Resource Management or any other relevant professional body;
  • Have demonstrated, professional competence and ability in planning, management and administration of the human resource and administration function;
  • Be proficient in the relevant computer applications;
  • Have demonstrated a high degree of professional competence and ability in the administration and management of the Human Resource and Administration function; and
  • Have met the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya on leadership and accountability.
