Communications Officer Job Specification

• Oversee general protocol at the Placement Service;
• Coordinate the organization of public events;
• In liaison with the Chief Executive Officer, advise on media issues and act as a link between the media key stakeholders and the Placement Service; media monitoring;
• Organize for media coverage of all Placement Service events;
• Source for appropriate television and radio programs to disseminate information on activities of the Placement Service;
• Coordinate the preparation of official speeches;
• Ensure that appropriate feedback mechanisms are in place at the Placement Service;
• Develop and implement communications policy strategy;
• In liaison with the Chief Executive Officer, disseminate official communication of the Placement Service through press releases, newsletters, features, speeches, articles media supplements and documentaries;

Minimum Requirements for Communications Officer Jobs in Kenya

• Have served in a senior Corporate Communication Affairs position for Five Years, three (3) years of which must be in a senior management position;
• Have a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Journalism and Media Studies, Communication,
• Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Development Studies or equivalent qualification from recognized institution;
• Have a Master’s Degree in Communication, Education, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related area from a recognized Institution;
• Have met the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya on leadership and accountability;
• Be proficient in the use of computer applications.
• Have demonstrated a high degree of professional competence managerial and administrative capability as reflected in work performance and results.
