Supplies Chain Officer Job Specification
Develop, implement, review and monitor the sections standard operating procedures and ensure that they conform to the Public Procurement and Disposal Act and Regulations;
- Coordinate and supervise the tendering process and prepare asset inventory;
- Establish control mechanisms in the management and use of procured items;
- Provide advisory services on procurement matters including preparing plans on disposal of unserviceable, obsolete and surplus assets;
- Monitor contracts and vendor performance;
- Keep custody all procurement documents including inventory of goods and services in line with the requirements of regulation 34(3) of the Public Procurement and Disposable Regulations 2006;
- Coordinate implement and enforce policies, regulations and procedures relating procurement; and
- Prepare suppliers invoices creating a linkage between procurement and payment files in accordance with section 45(6) of the Public Procurement & Disposal Act 2005.
Minimum Requirements for Supplies Chain Officer Jobs in Kenya
- Have served in a senior Procurement position for Five Years, three (5) years of which must be in a senior management position;
- Have a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Development Studies or equivalent qualification from recognized institution;
- Have a Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related area from a recognized Institution;
- Be proficient in the use of computer applications;
- Have demonstrated a high degree of professional competence managerial and administrative capability as reflected in work performance and results; and
- Have met the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya on leadership and accountability.
