HR Manager Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior Manager for International HR Operations (US) and indirectly to the Regional Operations Manager (Kenya), this position forms an integral part of the WI Global HR Department.
The Regional HR Manager will provide HR operational support throughout the region in partnership with headquarters in the US.
Job Description:
- Serve as main HR contact and subject matter expert (SME) for all human resources matters in the region.
- Act as main channel of communication between regional based staff and Human Resources.
- Support regional programs and projects by providing strategic HR guidance and driving HR practices.
- Develop, implement and monitor all HR field office support systems including recruiting, performance management, benefits and compliance ensuring smooth functioning, communication and coordination with headquarters.
- Ensure that personnel files are maintained and copied to headquarters including employment contracts, job descriptions, performance evaluations and exit interviews.
- Ensure that employment and compensation practices are in compliance with organizational policies and local labor laws.
- Collaborate with HR to identify strategies to meet short and long-term needs in the region and provide ongoing feedback regarding HR processes.
- Recommend, manage and conduct training on topics ranging from HR policies and procedures to professional development.
- Provide professional development support for regional based staff based on project and organizational needs.
- Recommend best practices to create opportunities for information flow between headquarters and field offices and inter-country information sharing.
- Work with HQ to resolve employee relations issues.
- Develop and provide orientation to new employees in the Nairobi office.
Qualifications for HR Jobs in Kenya
- Bachelor or Graduate degree in HR or related field
- At least five to ten years of Human Resources experience, preferably as a generalist
- Experience working with NGOs and international human resource management
- Experience resolving employee relations situations and legal issues relevant to employment in field offices
- Ability to work independently and virtually
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of MS Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS databases
- Demonstrated ability to effectively deliver interactive training programs
- Ability to travel to field offices
- Must have a strong customer service orientation; ability to demonstrate the highest level of ethical standards at all times; ability to multi-task and juggle competing priorities while ensuring quality output.
