Our client would like to fill the vacancy of Information Technology Analyst.


Job Purpose/Summary

The job holder will ensure the effective operation of the IT department in conjunction with the business objectives of the company. Coordinates and designs IT-related activities for the company, as well as performs general preventive maintenance tasks on computers, laptops and printers. He will also be responsible for monitoring, operating, managing and troubleshooting of networking and telecom equipment


Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for supportingWindows XP, windows 7 and windows 8 workstations,Microsoft Office 2007/2010 full suit, Outlook in and Exchange Environment

Handle all basic hardware issues for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile deviceslike Blackberries & IPADS

Work at handling Routers, switches and firewalls.

Handling of the LAN/WAN equipment and cabling maintenance

Handling of DNS, TCP/IP and other networking concepts

Performs general preventative maintenance tasks on computers, laptops and printers

Responsible for monitoring, operating, managing and troubleshooting of networking andtelecom equipment.

Develop and maintain an inventory control system for all IT hardware and software

Ensure maintenance, trouble-shooting , and configuration of computer networks, including cable, hubs, routers, and other network electronics, connected desktop andlaptop computers and other network peripherals.

Investigate on existing information technology facilities to assess their adequacy for thelong-term information technology requirements

Identification of database requirements and specification for use and sharing of data, anensure the maintenance of the integrated data bases

Monitor the integrity of all systems and update all security requirements

Evaluate and report on the operating efficiency of computer systems and communications systems.

Ensure all IT systems are 99% available at all times. Keep system down-times to aminimum.

Investigate and report on the application of new information technology and techniques

Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software,including troubleshooting all hardware, software and network issues


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related technical field or its equivalent

3 years’ experience in a similar role

Must have an extensive background in computer hardware and software and an ability to translate computer requirements into appropriate support programs.

Proficiency in networking and communication technologies: DNS, TCP/IP networks andother networking concepts

Wiring and cabling, and network management solutions

Experience and/or knowledge with switching and routing load balancing and application

Working knowledge of Active directory

Knowledge and experience of large IT infrastructure components (server, storage and network

Knowledge or familiarity/exposure with/to Windows, Unix and Linux environments


Skills needed

Effective written and oral communication skills necessary for maintaining strong relationships with all levels of management.

Problem-solving skills are essential

Strong analytical skills associated to capacity to solve problems

Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as ability to work under pressure, meeting competing deadlines

Strong teamwork skills


Salary Budget: Kshs. 130,000
