Salary: Ksh 100,000- 150,000
Our client who is running a social enterprise program is looking for Program Director.
The purpose of the job is to play a leading role in the client’s project and ensure it achieves the intended growth and targets. The position is based in Nairobi with occasional travel to up country locations
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Directing the activities of the program/project for the organization
Business development of the project, ensuring that in addition to helping the society the program also generates revenue
Manage the team and other employees
Understand and implement the client’s project policies and procedures
Ensure scheduled work and production is carried out efficiently and effectively
Ensure products made and sold are of high quality and in accordance to set standards
Manage administrative, financial & Human resource functions of the project
Oversee and take part in staff training
Planning and implementing an annual calendar of activities for the project
Strategic planning for the project/program
Preparation and presentation of regular reports to the board regarding all matters of the project
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Post Graduate qualifications: Masters degree related to business management highly preferred
Degree in a Business, or Humanities
At least 5 -7 years experience with 2 in middle to upper level management position especially in an NGO setting
French speakers have an added advantage
Knowledge in environmental projects is an added advantage
Ability to manage a team
Flexible with local travel
Strong managerial & leadership skills
Effective decision making and problem solving skills
Interpersonal and communication skills
