Our client, a reputable company that processes the Moringa plant into its final products is currently recruiting for the following position:
Project Manager- Complementary Crops.
The position is in Coastal Region.
Complementary crops are cultivated or sourced as complements to the Moringa plant in our Moringa products. They include Stevia, Teff, Curcumin/Turmeric, Artemisia anua Anamed, Flax, Chia, Sesame, Goji seeds etc.
Duties and responsibilities
- Prepare budgets, work plan, project design and scheduling for the project’s activities
- Ensure program implementation is executed as per approved project documents
- Establish a stable and steady supply of good quality raw materials that will be sourced from without at cost effective prices.
- Make sure crops cultivated within are well managed to ensure maximum establishment and production to meet projected yields.
- Ensure crops are scouted for pests and diseases and prepare pests and diseases summary.
- Supervising harvesting of the crop from the farm and preparing it for processing or storage.
- Monitoring adequacy of irrigation and adjusting irrigation if needed.
- Ensure all cultural practices on crops in the farm are carried out timely and to high standards.
- Facilitate land preparation in readiness for planting
- Ensure timely planting schedule is adhered to and that crop is available for production.
- Ensure that all activities are conducted incompliance with various standards and that all tasks in the farm are performed to the required standards
- Ensure that appropriate monitoring data are collected to record of the project’s progress.
- Organize and attend trade fairs and exhibitions with a view of diversification and innovation of new products.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in Agriculture/ Horticulture or Agricultural related field
- Extensive knowledge of horticultural crops will be an added advantage.
- Strong drafting, editing, reporting and presentation skills.
- Computer proficiency.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Demonstrates / Safeguards Ethics and Integrity.
- Good corporate knowledge and sound judgment.
- Team player.
- Self-driven, passionate, socially-minded and experienced person
