Instep Business Solutions (IBS) is looking to recruit a Principal for its client, a Hospitality and Business Institute, in Nairobi, Kenya
Position Overview :
Reporting to the Group CEO, the position will ensure the Institute’s educational innovation and achievement, manage partnerships, and lead, inspire and develop the academic team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of the Institute’s vision, mission, plans, policies, educational programs, and activities;
- Organize, direct and manage the Institute’s academic team ensuring delivery of high quality education and training, as well as ensuring their professional development and training;
- Ensure relevant support is provided to foster teaching, learning and student support;
- Promote discipline and good conduct by students and staff;
- Oversee staff and students appointment, assignment, grading, appraisal, suspension, dismissal and determination, within set frameworks;
- Prepare annual estimates of income and expenditure for the academic division and manage the budget and resources within set estimates;
- Promote team work and high professional standards to ensure that the Institute offers quality service to its clients and foster a culture of excellence and innovation;
- Promote inclusive and student-centered Institute providing a safe and effective learning environment;
- Oversee the Institute’s internal quality assessment and assurance mechanisms to effectively bring about continuous quality improvement through identified standards and benchmarks;
- Develop and maintain mutually beneficial partnerships.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Education
- Masters degree in a business related field is an added advantage
- At least 7 years experience with 3 years in a senior position in Education Management/Administration
- Knowledge of principles governing higher education
- Business acumen
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Planning and organization skills
- Strong leadership ability
