Investment Banking Lead
Role Purpose
Drive innovation, strategy, growth and branding for Investment Banking business and product lines to achieve group’s business objectives and expansion
Key Accountabilities/ Functions
Organization Building
- Strategize and identify medium and long term business strategies for investment banking
- Establish the Bank brand in Investment Banking; Develop, nurture and retain contacts & customers across geographies
- Deepen share of wallet across the Bank’s product suite by collaborating across relevant Lines of Business
- Define, plan and control the execution of product strategies, positioning and go-to-market strategies for local and regional product implementation to create customer differentiation and increase market share
Global Expansion
- Drive global growth strategy by identifying and executing strategic alliances/ partnerships
- Establish and manage teams at countries to jointly achieve business objectives and targets
Business as Usual
- Create Annual Operating Plans/ Budgets in line with strategic direction, determine progress on objectives & revise tactics in accordance with current conditions
- Accountable for revenue and profitability growth of the Investment Banking business
- Ensure delivery of high quality services while managing for current and future growth
- Assist Sector Executives as needed, in reviewing, planning and managing complex customer accounts
- Protect bank’s assets and maintain quality of portfolio by setting and adhering to processes, policies & procedures; legal, ethical, audit & regulatory requirements; established risk guidelines
- Responsible for performance monitoring of the team
- Promote customer-centricity at all levels within IB team
Functional Requirement
- Global exposure across sectors(Industrials, FIG, healthcare etc.) and products (M&A, PE, ECM and DCM)
- Excellent cross-geography contacts in the Investment Banking industry and a strong track record in deal execution
- Experience at liaising and interfacing at Board level
- Strong strategy and business planning skills encapsulating global considerations
- Proven track record in driving collaborative results across the organisation
- Experience with global expansion, customer identification, development and retention
- Deep understanding of entire set of non-banking solutions
- Strong leadership and people development capabilities, an inspiring leader that people choose to follow
- Strong operational mind-set, decisive, with a “get it done” and “whatever it takes” approach.
- Trusted advisor/ thought leader in the industry
Experience
- Relevant cross-geography work experience of 10+ years with Investment Banks.
- Additional experience with multi-functional Financial Institutions preferred.
- Experience in Business as Usual responsibilities: Must-have.
- Experience in either Organization Building Or Global Expansion responsibilities
