ACTED is a non-governmental organization whose vocation is to support vulnerable population world wide and to accompany them in building a better future. ACTED was created in 1993, is governed by the French law and has its head quarters in Paris, France.
ACTED Kenya is looking for a self-driven, self-oriented and resourceful person to fillan Internship position in its Logistics Department in ACTED Nairobi Office.
Reporting to the Capital Logistics Officer her/his specific duties will include:
- Assist in bid analysis and selection of suppliers
- Assist in the tendering process and prequalification of suppliers
- Assist in updating the supplier database
- Assist in requesting for quotations
- Assist in updating internal order follow up tools;
- Delivering purchase orders to suppliers, collecting items purchased and ensuring their quality and specifications;
- Assist in updating stock cards and general arrangement of the store
- Follow up on vehicle logbook collection and consequent updating fuel consumption excel sheets.
- Ensure all documents are fully in order before filing or presentation for payment
- Filing all suppliers and/ transport related documents and letters,
- Assist logistics in daily job activities such as onsite monitoring of contracted works.
- Perform other relevant duties as required.
Qualifications/Skills Required
- Degree/Diploma in purchases & supplies management, Logistics from a recognized Institution
- Strong team player of high integrity, pleasant personality, ability to work under least supervision and meet strict deadlines.
- Computer literate.
- Having prior experience preferably in a Logistics Department in an INGOis a plus.
- Good public Relations with strong negotiation skills.
