Deputy Claims Manager

We are recruiting for a Deputy Claims Manager to be based at the Head Office (Nairobi).
The purpose of this job is to administer and process claims in a timely and professional manner, and assist the Claims Manager in ensuring that systems and procedures covering claims handling are adhered to and customer desired service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on claim matters across the business and assist in design and implementation of claim to effectively reduce risk exposure to the Company
- Ensure that all claim procedures / guidelines are complied with
- Supervise proper reserving on claim payments
- Assess liability of the company in respect to policy, verification of premium payment, extent of cover etc.
- Prepare and analyze claim reports including Commissioner’s report and Association of Kenya of Kenya Insurers
- Identify Claims that do not qualify for settlement and initiate the process of repudiation and monitor day to day claims and ensure they are processed and paid in time
- Issuance of Discharge Vouchers and subsequent payments. This is subject to the authority limits
- Resolve complaints/disagreements with service providers amicably so as to maintain a good working relationship
- Handle clients’ communication and fast track response
- Any other duties that will be assigned by management from time to time.
Education, Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor of Commerce in Insurance/Business related degree
- Advanced Certificate in Insurance – ACII
- IIK –Insurance Institute of Kenya
- At least 5 years’ experience in the insurance claims handling
- Good knowledge of the insurance industry and IRA,KRA,AKI regulations and country laws.
