Factory/ Production Manager- Solar Products
Industry: Energy/ Manufacturing
Location: Nairobi
Our client is a company that has setup a factory for the manufacture of world class solar systems. They seek to hire a Factory Manager with a mechanical/ energy background to run the Factory
Key Accountabilities:
Responsible for ensuring that the solar systems meet international & company standards
Custodian of the systems related to quality at the Factory.
Participate in technical development of new and existing products
Proceed to productivity improvement by setting relevant action plans
Ensures control of external costs through implementing cost friendly procurement policies
Reviews each staff responsibilities at the factory
Handle projects in accordance with the country regulations and group procedures
Ensure that training and qualification program are implemented and that quality procedures are followed by all staff of the factory.
Take part in the performance appraisal of factory staff
Ensures that the facility is operated in a safe, reliable and efficient manner, preserving the environment
Ensures that the preventive maintenance plans are prepared & executed
Also, the list of critical spares is maintained and adequate spares inventory is maintained at the factory.
Ensure the right product quality and quantity is available by maintaining the agreed stocks levels to ensure on time delivery
Monitors and ensure proper housekeeping of the factory.
Also, ensure compliance to regulations for the waste disposal and recycling requirement(s).
Other responsibilities assigned by the management from time to time.
Skills & Certification:
University Degree preferably in Mechanical/ Production Engineering
Work experience in a manufacturing set up for 5 – 10 years
Proven leadership and ability to drive the factory floor
Excellent manufacturing knowledge and experience
Working with a manufacturing company in a similar capacity
