ACTED is a non-governmental organization whose vocation is to support vulnerable population world wide and to accompany them in building a better future. ACTED was created in 1993, is governed by the French law and has its head quarters in Paris, France.


ACTED Kenya is looking for an experienced a driven professional to fill the post of Appraisal Monitoring and Evaluation.


Key functions

To participate in the tasks of AMEU for ACTED Kenya/Somalia

Working under the supervision of Country AME Manager and in collaboration with AME data analyst and other ACTED departments as necessary;


Specific responsibilities of AME intern include, but not limited to:



  • Support AME Planning and Reporting

  • Provide support in following up AME outputs and inputs as needed for AME reports.

  • Assist in the design of AME methodologies, terms of reference (TORs)and data collection tools to monitoring processes, outputs and outcomes of ACTEDs projects (including for verification of beneficiaries, needs assessments, monitoring, baseline surveys and project evaluations);

  • Liaise and collaborate with Field Coordination, Programme Development Departmentand Implementing Partners to put together various AME plans and reports

  • Support AME Manager in ensuring that the objectives of the surveys and studies carried out by AMEUfulfil the requirements of project indicators;

  • Provide support area AME staff in providing trainings for enumerators to implement activities effectively, including training on objectives, methods and tools required;

  • Ensure accurate/reliable information is collected by checking questionnaires and ensuring all team members are clear on the TOR and methods used;

  • Carry out data entry, basic data analysis and reporting as requested by the line manager

  • To provide data cleaning and data quality assurance support to the AME data analyst

  • Support reporting and maintaining documents on projects best practices, lessons learnt, case studies, success stories, etc.

  • General filing of AME documents in the server

  • Any other duty that may be requested by your supervisor


Qualifications and Competencies



  • Holder of Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Statistics, International Development studies or related field

  • Good analytical skills with knowledge and practice in performing statistical analyses using one of these packages is essential: SPSS, Stata and Excel

  • Prior experience in working with an INGO is an added advantage

  • Well versed with computer knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills with knowledge of both internal and external communications environments.

  • Proactive, self-starter – able to work with minimum supervision.

  • Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills, with the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.

  • The ability to work well in a team

  • Possess high levels of integrity

  • Willingness to travel to the field

  • Flexible, enthusiastic and a willingness to listen and learn from others
